Current Project 2024
Shellie Meier is an accomplished Agriculture Developer currently leading the innovative agricultural and wetlands-focused development at BT Farms Residential Development located on Madison, WI just off Buckeye Rd. With over 222 acres of picturesque land, this project marks Wisconsin's second Agri-hood, where Shellie is instrumental in planning, designing, and implementing sustainable agricultural practices. Beyond her role in agricultural development, Shellie is also a key consultant on Economic Development and Sustainability, ensuring the long-term viability and success of the BT Farms project. Her expertise is shaping a vibrant, eco-friendly community centered on agriculture and environmental stewardship.

Past Project
Shellie Meier has an extensive background in agricultural education and community engagement. One of her notable projects was her developmental work at Badger Rock Middle School. There, Shellie was instrumental in the design, planning, and direction of community engagement initiatives. She developed and implemented an agricultural curriculum that remains an integral part of the school’s program to this day.
In addition to her curriculum development work, Shellie taught at Badger Rock, fostering a hands-on, experiential learning environment for students. She also facilitated partnerships with students from the University of Wisconsin's Human Ecology department, where she co-taught agricultural development education. These collaborative efforts helped bridge educational gaps and provided valuable learning experiences focused on sustainable agriculture and community-based food systems.

Our dream is to create a unique, farm-inspired event space where couples and guests can experience the charm of a rustic barn setting while enjoying the bounty of the land. Imagine hosting your wedding or special event on a stunning farm, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Guests will not only revel in the festivities but will also have the chance to pick fresh produce directly from our fields and shop at our small farm store for local goods and organic treats.
This project aims to build a space that reflects sustainability, community, and the love of the land, providing a backdrop that’s perfect for weddings, celebrations, and memorable gatherings.
What We’re Building:
- A beautifully designed wedding barn and event center with both indoor and outdoor spaces for celebrations of all kinds year round.
- A small farm store where guests can purchase fresh produce, flowers, and artisanal goods grown and made right on the farm.
-Pick-your-own experiences, allowing guests to engage with the farm by picking fresh produce during events, bringing the farm-to-table concept to life.
